I was all set to write about Ford Motor Company and its woes, and this contemptible but predictable information about Nancy Pelosi protecting wealthy friends in her constituency from the federal minimum wage increase comes screaming across the airwaves. I almost hesitate to write about it, every conservative pundit out there is going to be all over this one, but it is just too much for me to pass up.

If you haven’t heard, top of the new Speaker’s agenda, the Democrat Communist from the “great” district of San Francisco, is to jam a higher minimum wage down America’s throat. (She wants to insure unskilled workers can never get a job and start to develop marketable skills so the country will have even more people on government assistance.) Next on the agenda is to increase the tax rate on every American making more than $500,000.00 a year. (She wants to make sure those most productive members of our society are motivated to stop working, and receive more of their income via non-taxable compensation.) We can surely bring that crippled Russian economy to the United States if we try hard enough. Communist utopia is almost here!

Now I’m not about to argue in favor of a minimum wage under any circumstance, labor is a commodity driven by market forces like any other, and if people are unhappy with their wages they ought to find new jobs, but if there ever was a condition in which minimum wage might make sense, it is when workers are trapped on an island in the middle of the South Pacific with few or any employment choices. I did a little checking and found American Samoa has been exempted from federal minimum wage laws for years. Currently, tuna cannery workers on American Samoa make $3.26 an hour. We don’t hear jack about that until Capitol Hill politicians want to embarrass each other, but we sure hear how Wal-Mart is screwing our fellow citizens!

Where is Nancy Pelosi? Isn’t she the High Priestess of empathy and fairness? Isn’t she champion for the downtrodden? Is StarKist Tuna (now owned by Del Monte) enslaving and subjugating poor Samoan workers with predatory employment policies? Certainly not, especially if the CEO of Del Monte is Mrs. Pelosi’s next door neighbor and contributes generously to her causes. Why weren’t these low wages addressed long before now? No matter how many times it is said, it cannot be repeated enough, Democrat policies are not designed to help the poor, they are designed to purchase votes from disenchanted Americans with low IQ’s.

I don’t know if Del Monte executives are contributing to Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Party, I only know this was alleged in today’s news reports. It really doesn’t matter, you’re either all about promoting retarded socialist policies or you’re not. If they’re so good for America and you don’t endeavor to promote them everywhere, what are you doing? What you’re doing is selectively encouraging damaging political policies and prostituting the American people to secure your own position and power in our political system. The Founding Fathers would be proud.

Democrat hypocrisy is well known and pervasive. It is an ill which permeates the American political landscape. Some top performers are chronicled in the book Do As I Say (Not As I Do), and Nancy Pelosi, true to form, is one of the stars. When somebody is so adept and accomplished in a discipline, who stands head and shoulders above their peers, you really have to marvel. You really must be amazed when someone takes something like hypocrisy and elevates it into an art form. To act in such a bold and impudent manner, without even a hint of guilt or remorse; Ted Bundy would blush. Such grand skills deserve salute…so Miss Nancy…Sieg Heil!
